Frequently Asked Questions

Keep children & pets off the lawn until dry. Usually an hour or two. It is best to water the application in before long periods of activity on the lawn.

Normal Weather Conditions: Water deep and less frequently. Watering 3-4 times a week for longer periods is much healthier for established lawns than watering multiple times daily. Maintain adequate moisture to the depth of rooting, usually the top 2 to 3 inches of soil. Early mornings are the best time to water. Little wind and lower temperatures will reduce evaporation water loss. Time your system so that watering finishes up just as the sun comes up. Draught Weather Conditions: Increase watering by a day or two

It is ok to water 3-4 hours after an application but better to wait 8 hours for weed kill whenever possible. It is very important to water within 24 hours of an application for at least 15-20 minutes.

The fertilizer portion of the application is not harmed at all. If after 10 days, you do not see any effects on the broadleaf weeds, touch up may be needed. Please contact us.

  • Spring clean-up: Drop mower to a low setting and bag clippings.
  • Regular mowing’s: Set blade height to at least 3" for the season. Raise mower blade to at least 3.5" or 4" in times of high heat and draught.
  • Lawns maintained at a higher mowing height have a deeper root system and will be able to acquire water from a larger volume of soil contributing to:
  • A darker lush green appearance.
  • Providing shade for the soil, retaining moisture during hot and dry weather.
  • Reducing the risk of disease.
  • Reducing unwanted broadleaf weed germination.
  • Mow more frequently to avoid removing over 1/3 of the grass blade at one time.
  • Always maintain a sharp mowing blade. Dull blades can cause wounds in the grass blade resulting in 30-50% increased water loss.
  • Mow leaves and clippings into the lawn and leave clippings. If you mow frequently enough, the thatch will not build up because shorter clippings will compost in more quickly and start amending the soil and adding nutrients.
  • Fall clean-up: Drop mower blade height to a setting of 2- 2.5 inches and bag clippings. We do not recommend power raking every year. On average about every 3 years if proper care is given.

We suggest waiting at least 24 hours to mow after a treatment. We also recommend mulching all season but minimally, grass should be mulched the first 2 mowing’s after each treatment.

The lawn does not need to be mowed before an application. However, it should not be mowed within 24 hours after an application.
